The exploration ranged from retaining the original layout with the brand ‘heartbump’ - to pushing the layout further and further. It’s set in Uluwatu where the scenery is clear and the waves are high. Inspired by the vibrant and nostalgic aesthetics of old surf film posters, this vintage style serves as the creative cornerstone for all assets, extending a sense of nostalgia seamlessly across all event collaterals – from flyers, invitations, merchandise and social media content. All this keeps the energy present and the surf identity in check with an element of fun, pop culture and vintage vibes while bringing a new perspective to the 4th Single Fin Classic in 2023. The logomark is now officially adopted as the official logo for Single Fin Uluwatu. The task: create a suite of icons for each of their offerings - The Sando Room, Yama Yogurt, Kyoto Matcha, Specialty Coffee, and Craft Beer; illustrating Yume’s soft Japanese influence translated through their modern, mindful sensibility. We developed a set of symbols that feel both familiar and fresh: clean strokes, balanced geometry, and quiet references to traditional pictograms. In the research,&nbsp;I also discovered the watercolours of Mark Adams, whose work captures this stillness I wanted to evoke.
